Third Generation Fan Coil Units Meet the Needs of Building Owners, Specifying Engineers and Contractors
MINNEAPOLIS – May 27, 2010 – New ThinLine™ 3G fan coils and unit heaters from McQuay International combine the features most desired by building owners, specifying engineers and contractors and meets the needs of all three. These third-generation ThinLine units offers quiet operation for building owners, a wide range of coil options for specifying engineers, and easy installation for contractors.

For building owners, ThinLine fan coil units improve occupant indoor air quality and comfort, while reducing operating costs. The units comply with ASHRAE 62.1-2004 Standards for high indoor air quality and feature a non-corrosive drain pan and an option for fresh air ventilation. A range of control options lets users set the desired comfort level while also reducing operating costs. The units are easy to maintain, with easy access to filters, fan motors and control systems.
For specifying engineers, ThinLine 3G units provide great versatility and simplify specifications. Five different vertical models are available with multiple arrangements and configurations. These include multiple coil, control, grille and appearance options. Coil options include two, three or four-row main coils; one or two-row preheat coils; and one-row re-heat coils (hot water or steam) for precise heating and cooling performance. Units are available in flat-top, slope-top, wall-mounted and hideaway configurations.
For contractors, ThinLine 3G vertical fan coils and unit heaters feature Quick Ship options for fast delivery and a number of features that make installation fast and simple. The units reduce installation time and field-labor costs by offering factory-installed valve and piping packages. Easy, end-panel removal allows for quick hookup to the building electrical and piping. Factory-mounted and tested controls minimize field setup. End compartment panels also can be removed for installation and service without removing the front panel covering the fan blower so airflow through the filter and coil is not jeopardized for taking temperature and performance readings.
